Location: Woodbridge, VA

Major: Pastoral Ministries and Masters in Religious Education/Math and Education

Graduation Year: 1985/1987 (seminary)

Current Profession/Job: Pastor of Student Ministries/Cathy is a mathematics professor

Our story:   After graduation Cathy and I moved to northern Virginia where I pastored for seven years, and she taught math education in Fairfax County Public Schools.  Like all new families who move to this area, we had to juggle schedules, church and work.  The Lord opened the door for me to become bi-vocational where I served as a professional firefighter for 11 years while doing student ministries in three different churches.  I retired as a professional firefighter after 11 years, and now serve full time as the student ministries pastor at Calvary Baptist Church.  Fall of 07, Cathy was offered a professor’s position at Virginia Tech University and teaches mathematics at the Falls Church campus.  Our oldest son Caleb plans to graduate this spring from Liberty.  Stephanie is a junior at Virginia Tech, and Jared is a senior in high school.  Cathy and I are very young to be empty-nesters, but we look forward to what God has for us next.  For those of you who are beginning your families, we are a living testament that there is life after Pampers.
